Me and 5 other old mates (brother) will be rowing the channel for charity in October, from Ramsgate to Nieupoort (Belgium).

It's approx 55 miles (dependant on tides etc).... so the usual January health kick has a bit more meaning this year. I've jumped in headlong, I enjoy training anyway, been running a bit lots of swimming and rowing machine etc...

Kicked the booze (only a social drinker any way so that wont hurt), eating sensibly...... but the worse thing is I've cut out sugar (as much as possible).

Would have 2 in tea or coffee, bars of chocolate, biscuits etc... now I have none in tea which means I hardly drink it cause it tastes like shit, haven't had a chocolate bar for nearly 3 weeks (I'm like a junkie with my cravings lol)...

But I'm feeling better already, more awake, kids are doing it too, Fin done 30 lengths of the pool one night last week and 25 a couple of nights later, all have come out running with me.

As soon a I reach Belgium in October I'm having a giant bar of chocolate to myself lol

I've never had a sweet tooth for pop, chocolate and cake ect always prefer something savoury but I did like my tea sweet until a couple of year's ago I decided to cut as much sugar out as possible .I still have a couple of spoons full in my first cuppa of the day to get me going but that's it and I don't really miss it now.... the only advice I can give is stay away from artificial sweeteners there worse than sugar for you.
