downsouth 8,222
until I know I have full control even with distractions she won't get any bite work as I know she'll do all that stuff as it's in her blood it's all the other stuff which makes a complete pp dog. I like that it makes a lot of sense....same with anything you just have to have faith in the dogs breeding that its going to do what comes natural when put in that position you dont need to keep " trying it out " every 5 minutes just to put your mind at ease.....selection/breeding/schooling/showtime in that order regardless what breed or what task.Exactly mate I've always had that theory with whatever type of dog I've had.Even if I did do bite work with her week in week out its not going to make her a better dog in the long term anyway. What else is in the mix, I always feel its a fine line between disciplining a young dog and how that discipline effects its ability or confidence when the pressures on later, I've heard the Germans saying too much dominance or stern leadership leaves the dog a little lacking in the field,

king 12,015
I remember seeing a video online about a police force I think it was training German sherpards.very impressive dragging a driver out of a moving van and clearing a car to get to an armed man.and remember seeing the raf dogs going up and over an 18 ft wall Tottaly amazed me as a kid. Just found this now very impressive.https://youtu.be/g4oPew_UHS8 Edited December 24, 2015 by king
