king 12,038
LolIt's no wonder why lads don't post any good write ups on here no more with all the slating that goes on.When i first joined this site it was packed with long write ups.but sadly they are quite rare these days. I took most of my rabbits by ferreting and a good few yrs lamping.rabbits can't jump 4ft while in a purse net. And the hundreds I've caught lamping I can't recall many jumping that high. Popular Post Phil Lloyd 10,739
Give the pup a slip on a rabbit on the fringe of a forest plantation tonight after a few turns the rabbit ran out onto a gravel road as the dog was about to pick it up it shot straight up vertical it must of gone 4ft I've never seen a rabbit jump so high.have you seen rabbits jump 4ft plus. Rabbits are no different to most of the critters that we pursue,...life is precious,..everything wants to live,...and I've seen Hares, Foxes and Deer take evasive action on many ocassions... It is their job to survive, and our task as hunters,...to capture them.. This image is just one picture, from a series of action shots, taken by my late friend Adrian Sole... I well remember the day... It was freezing,..a biting cold North wind cutting across the large open warren... Wiltshire's Salisbury Plain,. can be a harsh place and the rabbits that live, deep in the ancient chalk warrens, rarely give up their furry jackets without providing a tough test, for even the quickest of jukels... That ferreting trip was destined to be Adrian's last day out with me.. He was suffering with Lung Cancer,... and died a few weeks later. He left me a batch of excellant and quite exceptional snaps,..and said,.."Phil,..I would be so proud if you could ever use them in a book or a magazine article,...I know that I'll not be here to see them,..but, I enjoyed having the chance to take them".... So, as requested, I have kept the little man's legacy safe,..and I will honour it.... I really do miss that brave wee guy.... Edited December 15, 2015 by Phil Lloyd 20 Quote Link to post

king 12,038
That is a brilliant pic Phill id say its the best ferreting action shot ive ever seen. its like the black dog is thinking wheres it gone and the merl dog thinking look at this clever bugger lol.sorry to hear about your mate Adrian passing on.he definitely had a some skill armed with a camera.. I find that the numb freezing cold hands are the last thing on a ferreters mind when waiting patiently for a bolting rabbit.but when stopping the Action for a brew and Sandwich they are chilled to the bone.
