First Season Dogs Finding

Recommended Posts

And sorry for for the totally wrong talk and comments the other week, I'd been out for the day, hunting, had a all right day out and bit of experience but got nothing but no problem. I came home had a feckn drink and sent me head horrible, out of order. As for pk I only heard of him, probably from jealous people. He can't be bad, I knew a stranger to him got a strong Russell, only tried it once and didn't work, give it a end of dig, hard dog and sold it on to his man a big peddler.

You'll find a lot of young terriers want more room than they need, it might not be she can't find, it just might be she won't commit to pushing tight. One way or the other she'll put it right in time

I try not to over think anything, at the end of the day they're green pups that don't know their heads from their arses. I always show my pups dead game, not to often but enough to let them know that

Keep him going in the small places, some of them are naturals but the bulk of them learn their trade as they go through life.

Yes i would try the experienced dog if he was still wanting after seeing the first season promising keen worker come out But you know yourself if one had been with game and u knew , it woudn be right or fair to try another, either way . It like a fresh or new man in the ring. Not right on man or animal.

In this post Pablo you're talking about a pup coming off, the subject is failing to find in the first place.

I agree with Dillydog. I always let a pup have a rag and keep entering as simple as possible.

If the young dog has never found before then it's a whole new starting curve for it, if it's game and flying say in through earth's then at least that part is not a problem. It should find if it wants to or has the capability that is always required. Whether it be any good is another matter

Some young terriers will have the attitude to push up tight from the start and find there game with little effort where as others may take a bit of time and confidence to do so.In there 1st season a terrier imo should be kept winning if possible and let there confidence grow then they will quickly become a usefull terrier,2nd season give them harder and more.
