ftm 3,357
my intentions were to go on a squirrel hunt but for some unknown reason I missed nearly every one I spotted -anyway I heard & saw a group of bandits on outskirts of a wood so I tucked in and using the "u caller" I got them to come for a look 1st shot and one dropped like a brick [why did I miss easier squirrels }? the rest flew off but veered back round and started the cackling thing I lined another up and Smack! dropped it into fallen leaves the others flew at it and were pecking and pulling at it ! ooooh I thought this looks good and in the next few minutes I dropped another 3 . well I think the others got the message and were off! ,the farmer was harvesting beans[late???] and I could hear shotguns going off and woodies were landing on outskirts of a large conifer wood so I walked up and sat tight few minutes later a movement catches my eye and a squirrel is climbing a big beech tree in corner of field only 30 odd yds away . it sat in the 1st bow facing me and surely I cant miss another one ! I put cross hairs on its forehead and let fly with accupel & it just rolled forward and dropped to ground [phew!] I hung around for another hour and dropped 4 woodies for the pot -rapid mk2 used 9 Quote Link to post

Rez 4,961
To be honest ftm. The more I look at this... You've set the standard here man. 5 of the most weary, 4 of the most tasty and a tough little sod. You couldn't get a finer bag mate. Seriously. If you'd of dropped a hooded crow, it would be 10, but this is the best 9 I've seen since my time on THL. And with a proper set up too... a "used" 7 with a 30/30 ret in twenty two. I don't know it is but this image wouldn't be as sweet if it wasn't. This is what the hunting life is about. 4 Quote Link to post
