Tell your mate to take up a new hobby and leave the dogs alone the bell end ......

Who the piss looks at post counts and then uses that figure to gauge wether the member is a genuine dog man/woman or not?   Haha. That's the most bizarre thing I've read on here for a long time.

Seen ye kennel yesterday Gaz, looked like a rspca advert haha

Yeah his dogs ears are pricked and he was on about snapping them to make them sit right, just I've never heard of this method being used

I wouldn't of thought any kind of dicipline via the ears would ever have been beneficial, especially with a lurcher . . To think, the dog would have to be within arms length in order to receive such 'abuse' and what a total breach of trust the mutt would feel!

It seems like a 'dirty' kind of punishment. If and when physical discipline needs to be administered, surely it should be done as 'inanimately' as possible . . A tug on the collar, tap from a stick or whip etc.

And as for a lurcher 'sitting' well, whether that needs instilling at all could be another thread?? A pointless exercise of training I've found it to be. As long as my dog remains static when told, I don't care how he chooses to do that!
