nothernlite 18,260
Don't do a great deal lamping mow but always wait for the right nights don't like getting them to lamp shy font see the point I'm ore daytime than night now just in from a good day out 1 Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
I go whatever the weather. The chance of getting a night off work when conditions are perfect is slim. So first night I get off I'm lamping regardless. If I worked days then I would plan my lamping trips around the moon and the weather. Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
Been bad fog here for over a week Think it's countrywide pretty much. I was working in Cornwall Saturday and fog was thick, drove 6 hours up the road and it was foggy all the way up. Only the odd clear patch. Monday night we were up Leeds and it was the same up there. Why make life harder for yourself for the sake of a little patience? I know waiting for perfect conditions is almost impossible for many, but the 'right' conditions don't have to be 'perfect' conditions. As an example, if there's like a 58% (waning) moon and 6 mph wind, you will NOT see me venturing out with the lamp, but give it a couple of nights later and a bit of cloud, and 15-20 mph winds, and I'll have a look. Just seen the above posts, yeah, fog and I'm in keeping warm lol, I'm a patient sort lol 3 Quote Link to post
Somewhereyournot 1,117
4th of november already and not a decent night to go lamping, so as long as its not full moon or fog im not shy of walking for the odd runs lol iv been out when its been really windy , dark etc and not seen as much on calmer brighter nights... just think its luck of the draw to be quite honest..the less your out the less chance you got of sucking the right tit imo.fog/50%+ moon i dont bother though.. Gaz_1989 9,539
the less your out the less chance you got of sucking the right tit imo. I find the opposite. It's those nights when I don't go lamping that I get to suck I the right tit. 2 Quote Link to post
grompz 706
i wouldnt bother going out lamping rabbits on a clear still moonlight night, all you will achieve are lamp shy rabbits, hard mouthed dogs due to rabbits not being dazzled enough by lamp, also can encurage dogs to run on there noses, rather than watch the lamp, not saying you wont catch rabbits, but hard work on dogs,,give me a good windy dark night any time, just my opinion and yes ican see where a lot of the lads are coming from, been there and done it. 1 Quote Link to post
