Bullfinch Muling

Recommended Posts

I thought a bully cock would produce chicks to a finch or canary hen but she wont rear them ???

No mate and nor will a chaffinch cock produce with anything but a chaffie hen,it's down to sperm shape and count but both bully and chaffie hen will produce with all native finches and canaries...

Thank you :victory: and without sounding a smart arse i'm just passing on what others (good old Craigyboy being one of them ) have taught me and it is good to see others use what they now know to improve their own biird keeping  .There are plenty of good bird men on here who put my knowledge in the shade and most do help out with replies to questions asked i just might type more words that's all  ,but ain't it great this section never has a bad word said, never a ego issue,no bitching and mardling and all down to just a plain and simple "love of birds" that we all share.....What a shame the rest of life ain't so smooth eh  ..

Neil, I could be wrong but I have been involved in keeping British Finches and Canaries for over40 years and i've never known Cock Bully mating with anything other than it;s own kind, ie, Hen Bullfinch. Does anyone know any different? My brother sat with one of his friends and helped a CanaryXBully out of the shell, due to much weakness. He saved it. That's the guy who had the white Chaffinch, an abberation. They fascinate me. We watched a nest of white Blackbirds in the nest near to one of the busy Hospitals, but couldn't get near them. I noticed a certain idiot trying get you going afew days ago. However, in my opinion you rose to his childish manner in good admirable fashion. Well done. I will definitely send you the book next week with some photos of some of the older terriers.I have to find myself another terrier or 2 and David says he'd like a nice little Border. He had litle Toby when David was 15. The dog worked everything and marked Rabbits 100 per cent true, he sit there behind a hole waiting for Rats to bolt.
