The Seeker 3,048
Went to a charity do last night at the Grosvenor Park Lane. It was the HMV charity Nordoff Robins do. Anyway David Beckham was the guest of honour and received a lifetime achievement award but one of the auction lots was to have lunch with David Beckham. It went for £55K... Now it's a fabulous charity and well done to the guy who won the bid but I'm astounded how much someone would be willing to bid to have a bite to eat with Becks.. gnasher16 31,602
It will probably be some corporate group trying to impress a new client.......i very much doubt if its Micky out of the flats wanting a bacon butty with his big hero Its a time when a dick measuring contest always go,s down well the charities love it when these things get out of hand......great stuff everyones a winner.
The Seeker 3,048
Big Sam was there on the next table to me gnash, sat with Souness and a few others, not sure if you'd have shook his hand or thrown a bread roll at him?
Waz 4,293
Whatever the reason, its a great gesture. & you never know whoever one might gift the lunch to his kids or wotnot. Just a shame though that big charities seem to have lost their way with execs on astronomical salaries etc. So yeah, the charity wins, but how much eventually filters down to the good cause? Seems like the media are onto them. Me cynical? nah..
