charlie caller 3,654
Cracking looking mate, if its bang on leave well alone, I am not a fan of sleeves anyway, as I find they CAN, mess with consistency, enjoy it mate. 1 Quote Link to post
andykllhr 91
Thanks guys, yeah she is lovely just weird to not want anything else to fit or do to her. I had a Leupold [BANNED TEXT] 6X42 on her before and it was lovely but couldn't reparallax due to being a Chinese copy (didn't pay full price or anything). So I guess my next quest will be to get a proper one of those then it'll be beyond reprieve lol Quote Link to post
threelander 81
the tinbum drop in kits are a good piece of kit for very little money and if you are unsure of the fit not being correct best thing to do is contact Nick and he will help in anyway he can.if you send him the spring he will make you a bespoke kit to fit your spring he does not just sell off the shelf kits. pianoman 3,589
Great to see an HW80 being properly cared for and set up. Mine is a full-length .22 FAC on my ticket and has the same silencer as this one. Makes it a long rifle but, a beautiful one to shoot with. This rifle is a credit to you Andy, I like the stock too. Many yeas of happy shooting with it!All the best.Simon Quote Link to post
andykllhr 91
Thanks pianoman, she is special, I think my Regal may get a bit less field time now, but I personally think that you simply cannot do better than a well sorted springer. I think jonnie bravo is right, a set back trigger will be a nice addition, and at some stage another Leupold 6X42. Edited August 14, 2015 by andykllhr 1 Quote Link to post
thursodog 353
Hi folks. A glided piston will help with recoil. Did both of mines plus for other folks and it's a great improvement. 3 Quote Link to post
andykllhr 91
Is that available in a kit? Quote Link to post
thursodog 353
It costs about 200 from V-mach and they supply a sleeve piston glided replacement swap for your old piston and sprig with top hat and giude. I can machine you piston which will do the same job if you want. It's a case of sending your piston to me for the work to be done. 2 Quote Link to post
andykllhr 91
Wow that would be great thanks thursodog. I'll need some time for the dust to settle with the wife cos I've only recently bought my Regal. Would it be ok to get in touch in a couple of months? Quote Link to post

I fitted a rowan extra set back trigger and it feels much better to me. I'm sure your wife would never notice. But you will... 2 Quote Link to post
thursodog 353
Sure mate. Give me a shout any time. Just a case of posting the piston and I will send it back ready to fit back in with correctly sized delrin rings and piston polished up. You can let me know if you need a top hat too as if so the addition of this will save you buying a drop in kit. 1 Quote Link to post

If i can pick so much information up on improvements to rifles from a forum like this, why don`t the manufacturers ? I`m no tinkerer with rifles but it is a credit to all of you guys the improvements you make 2 Quote Link to post
