Hi guys getting a tikka t3 lite in 223 just wanted to naw your opinion on best scope and mod got around 200 for each to spend

Hiya mate I have a hawke scope on my 223, be in your budget, its been great think its the varmint sf 6-24-44 brilliant really clear I would love a s & b but with three kids and the rest I can dream lol

The mod I have is a pes12 stainless thats good to not sure how much they are though

Ive got the Tikka T3 lite in .222 I really like this rifle with Ase Utra mod ...very good mod imo and 8x56 s&b scope ...if you can try and hunt about and get decent second hand scope

For a "budget" scope, try a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x50. Seriously these scopes are incredible value for money,

 

I would have no hesitation putting one of these on any of my rifles, they are optically IMO nearly as good as most of the top brands out there

Mod wise,most retail at just over the £200 mark,yo could pick one up second hand.

8 x 56 is way to go Swarofski/Docter. Trouble will be the cost but results are results.

There isn't a best of either, as you can see you have already got a mix of kit (and prices).

 

What is best is what works for you, just think of weight, size protrusion, etc., when considering which mod to buy.

 

There isn't a whole lot to chose between any of them on sound moderation, particularly with a .223, but try and get one as calibre specific as possible, ie, get a .223 mod, not a .308 mod and fit it to your .223!

 

Scope wise it will depend on your day/night shooting, distance, preferred magnification/reticle, etc, a .223 isn't harsh, so just about any scope will take the bashing, look through as many as you can. A number mentioned above come in a chunk over £200, even second hand.

 

Masses of perfectly capable new scopes to chose from at £200, you may have to stretch a tiny bit more for the mod.
