He admitted to using steroids in one of his books but then back peddles saying the doctors gave them him, the dosage and type of steroids wouldn't be strong enough to put that much mass on him anyway. He went from around 14-15 stone to over 20 stone of pure mass, it ain't happening for me I'm sorry don't believe it.

LIke i say i havent read any of the stories i just remember standing about bored out of our minds talking bollocks........and he despised drugs and never felt any need to use steroids for strength.......this is a man who ive seen literally get off the sofa and walk into a gym and do a 400 lb bench press with no warm up.....he just had a very tough rugged physique his joint and tendon strength would of been massive theres absolutely no reason at all why a man of his size and frame couldnt put on huge amounts of weight drug free......what is " pure mass " ?.....must admit i never saw him much under 17/18 stone though im sure he was 14 stone once upon a time....personally i dont think he would of known what or even how to use steroids.
It's not that it can't be done naturally it's his age and the timescale in which he did it that makes me question it, it's plain to see he was way bigger when fighting the Gypsy than we he fought Shaw.
What's to say he hadn't come down from his natural weight of 18 stone to fight shaw ... If that's the case going back up to his original weight would be easy thus giving the effect that he massed on loads of weight unnaturally instead of it being perfectly natural .......
Because he's far from tip top condition in the Shaw bouts, growing to over 20 stone late in life is very suspect to me....
You don't understand much about how the body works,if you think it's difficult to put weight on later in life .... Sadly It's the complete opposite .....

It is when most of that weight is muscle, putting on over 5 stone is a massive amount.

There's a video on the net of Big Joe fighting another big old fat man.......it's a display so shite and yet at the same time pathetically sad that it's almost hard to watch. Two very, very fat pensi

A few travellers beat lenny but they only revealed it once he was dead

f****d if I know, but it should make for a brilliantly cringe worthy thread !!

The man had a massive frame to carry it .....

And??? He still had to put on that muscle and he did it in a very short space of time, I'm a pretty big lad weigh between 15-16 stone and no way in hell could I see myself gaining over 5 stone by hitting the gym alone.

But if you came down to 11 or 12 stone you would soon mass back up to your original weight and size with good eating and a moderate gym routine ....

But I'm leaner than Lenny looked in his fights with Shaw in which he weighed around 15 stone...

Eh??? So I'm leaner than Lenny was when he fought Shaw yet heavier, plus I'm just over 6 foot which means I'm naturally bigger than him. Edited by DogFox123

Between the last fight Lenny had with Roy shaw and the fight with Bradshaw is an eight year gap ... Anybody can put a few stone on in that time easily especially a tall heavy built man like McLean was .......

Fair enough if you believe he was natural but my eyes tell me otherwise, and a couple of stone is not over 5 stone there's a big difference. Let's be honest he sure as hell wouldn't have trained and ate like any serious athlete or body builder for that instance.
