vizlauk 1,568
It's good to get out on new land that's for sure, no electric shocks last night from the fences lol, loads of pigeons in the cattle sheds, barns and unused outbuildings, had a cracking time putting pay to them, we've been up to my new permission twice now & there seems to be very few rabbits about, lots of hares, and once you out its easy to get lost after dark. 2 Quote Link to post

zandy01 3,576
Well boys it was a cracking night for us on the feral pigeons that's for sure and I managed to christen the HW100K with a canny sized hare which was shot in daylight but by the time me and Vis found our way back to the Farm building and Jeeps is was proper dark, we weren't actually too far away from where we should've been but the fields are so big and being new permission it's easy to take a wrong turn and lose your bearings... A quick look on google maps and we were still confused, call to Mac and Anita clue where we are, little bit of too and fro between us as which way to go and for the 1st time ever, I got us to the gate we needed to be at Hopefully with some more exploring next week we will find the field that's lifting with rabbits... 4 Quote Link to post
bigmac 97kt 13,847
Well just a few days late but here go,s We took both tanks up with us this time as the last time it took 2 hours to get vis,s disco started but with the three of us and all the gear we took both plus that way we could start vis,s if it would not start lol We got to the farm for around 8ish and had a few hours in day light the rifles we were using were hw100s once we were sorted off we went Sean and Andy went one way and i went to the barns and took out about 10 feral, s then i made my way into the first field ,two rabbits took off for cover as soon as i enter,d the field but off in the distance was one hare so off i went i got to with in zero distance(25 yards) took aim and let go a jsb and it just rolled over . Once again they have to be shot as the land owner wants them gone but not because there a pest but the poachers are coursing damage with there 4x4,s , What the feck if your going to do it why o why take the 4x4 into the field in the first place and why drive through the hedge line and fences it just baffles me . Any way when vis got back with andy they had not got any thing so after a bite to eat and a drink we went back to the barns and shot some more pigeons (feral,s ) iv never seen that many in one place the rifles were on our shoulders full stop only took them of to switch mags i lost count at 72 or some thing like that lol We then went for another wander as the light was fading When we all met up at the tanks again Andy was walking along with his prize a nice big hare after another bite to eat and drink we set off again i went back into the first field where the two rabbits were the first time one took for cover again but one sat still so again i got to zero distance and sent it to sleep i then walked into a few fields saw plenty of hares but as it was dark now just let them go i dont want to shoot them but thats the way it go,s what the owner wants the owner gets . My night was just about dune so i headed back to the tank but on the way shot a few more feral,s in the barns once back at the tank i skin,d the pray and bagged them up gave the 100 a wipe down and put her away and made my self a fag when i got a phone call off vis Jimmy where are you im back at the jeeps shine your light up in the sky why were lost so i took the t67 off the 100 and shine,d the beam into the night sky can you see it no and i dont no where the feck we are ill go to the other side of the barns and do it just give me a call if you can see it so off i went then at the other side a few fields across i saw there red beam so i flashed mine and with that they flashed back so all was well lol So two hares a rabbit and near on 100 feral,s or more a good night was had by the Geordie Hw100 Club atvbmac  2 Quote Link to post
