Lamping Seasons Looking Good

Recommended Posts

Been keeping an eye on a few places that me and my friend lamp, and am really over happy

with the shooshy numbers, that i am more than pleased to say are looking a lot better than

previous seasons thank God. I think this 2015 lamping season will be a good one,

the numbers are their in strength. We actually left one of our places last year to build back up

and so pleased we did ive recently seen very good numbers back their now. Me and my friend

was talking the other day about how the summer will soon be over, and getting dogs proper fit

for hopefully one of the best seasons for years, weather permitting. And i am really looking

forward for the new 35 watt Cree L E D lamp that Deben are producing, COR I CANT WAIT

LADS, I REALLY LOVE ME LAMPING, DONT YOU BOYS.

PS WHATS IT LIKE YOUR END ? Cheers swg Dave

Last couple of summers have been better..I think its bad summers that hurt wildlife more than hard winters. No animal from rabbits to foxes and pheasants can rear young when its pissing with cold rain all spring and summer.. Hope you have a good season mate..

I have been out round all my old haunts, there are rabbits where they never used to be and and not many where they should be. I have a bit of land that would have given 200+ acres of lamping and all the holes are dead, not a rabbit in sight, they used to keep the grass down like a bowling green, but not anymore.

I have found a sand hole. it is on a big estate, but it is the biggest warren I know of withing 15 miles of me. I have seen a couple of blokes slinking off with ferrets in hand when I went for a wander, which made me chuckle

But in short I have enough to keep me busy, but I can't see me getting more than 20 in any one night.

its nearly the same in all most places , you get lot now .But comes mid sep-oct mixy norm taken most of what your seeing now, or the summer hunters have knocked big hole in them . it will be different ball game in dec  , even the numbers in the Dales as dropped down to what there were 4 years ago . Ok some places do hold good rabbit numbers, but there minority not majority

A couple of friends a few miles from me are also reporting good numbers

one of them had the old spaniel out, only for a walk, and said he was putting plenty up.

hope its good for all of us, we need cheering up after all those floods a couple of years ago.

Seems mixy has alrdy sprung up round this way so numbers are alrdy down def not as much about as last year but at least fox numbers have been down 2 years on a trot so hopefully come end of August will get a few good nights depends if we end up getting a short blast of summer in Augusts cos it's done nothing but rain and cold this summer so far
