I made elderflower and strawberry cordial and elderflower and orange cordial. Delicious! Fab made with hot water for a cold too ;)

12 bottles made of each and 6 bottles of pear and ginger.

Got the cherries on for some syrup now, got me herbs hanging to dry.

Just found some wild valerian so going to get the roots to make my sleeping syrup :D

Chamomile, feverfew, yarrow, agrimony, hyssop, comfrey, motherwort and wood betony all stored away.

Rose petal wine bubbling away, off out tomorrow to get more elderflowers for wine.

Been a busy few days!

Love this stuff and remember, fruit trees and bushes cost pence these days, so buy a couple and put them in where they will go unnoticed and you and others will reap the rewards in the coming years, maybe for generations... ;)

it's a nice thought thinking years and years down the line there's new people out picking from stuff you planted years and years before. Great stuff

Aldi an Lidl were both doin fruit trees for about 4 quid back in March/April. B&M were sellin them off at the end of April for a quid each. Fruit bushes even cheaper!

Just try to spend the rest of the year thinking where you could stick one or two and then next year make that small effort and get it done..!

And try to put sommat 'different' in, damsons, sloes, green guages etc... feck it... whatever!!

I've done it local for the last five years and that feeling that i've left a nice mark for the future is a massive buzz. ;)

Tree's are best planted before the sap starts rising, Feb, March, April. It's when the supermarkets get em in cheap. Apart from an initial soaking from a big bottle of water, the great British weather should see the tree right.

So now you got all the time in the world to plan where to put it. ;)
