Blackbriar 8,568
The T-in-the-Park music festival, in Tayside, is under threat, due to a pair of ospreys nesting on the site. If the chicks don't fledge in time, the whole festival will have to be cancelled, so as not to disturb the birds, costing the local economy an estimated £40 million. The EA recently spent £135,000 to trap, store and 'rehome' 55 water voles, while dredging, to prevent flooding, was carried out on the Somerset Levels. (almost £2,500 per vole - I'm definitely in the wrong business !) Proposals for a £40 billion tidal barrage on the Severn were dropped following objections by RSPB.......the list goes on...and on. Now, I love wildlife as much as the next man, as I'm sure everyone here does, (as long as the next man isn't Brian May !), but where to draw the line? Has the pendulum swung too far ? Are there too many animal protection laws and regulations or are they just too rigidly enforced ? Should human interests take immediate priority ? And is it right that so much money is being spent on wildlife projects, even when most of us are finding money in very short supply ? Cleanspade 3,322
nothing is safe from the human race. we are like a plague of fcukin locust. flattening everything in our wake. scary if you look to hard at it. but as we all know nature is a good leveller and nature will come into play at some point in time. this is the only thing that can stop us. all the money in the world wont save wild things only prolong the inevitable

You're not a minority and you have the same rights as everyone else in the country. Oh and the topic is about wildlife not your persecution complex
