bird 10,014
not strictly a lurcher post, but it involves my 2 lurchers anway . I ve had my son jack x dog for 3 days with me, why he went to London with his wife , I ve had the dog before for the odd night if he gone out somewhere . Its a rescue dog , had it from the pound where he lives, it supposed to be jack x Chihuahua lol, but to me it looks like just a little jack, its they think about 5 year old . So my son says don't loose him off the lead, as he might piss off, he had him 3 months now. He (woody ) that's what they called him at the pound lol , a real nice little dog loves his toys balls infract he mad on them . Well I took him with my 2 before and my dogs were fine with ,Buck loved him lol, Bryn was ok bit aloof but he 7 1/2 year you expect that, Buck only just over 2 year old ,but I kept him on the lead. Well it was bugging me not loose him off the lead with my 2 dogs, I know any rescue dog lurcher ,terrier, etc got unknown past and you have to be careful with them . So I went on walk where well away from traffic , you get few dog walkers there but, thought he seems happy with my 2 lurchers, so thought why should he want leave them and piss off , so feck it loosed him with them. He was great following them about , he started to to get in the hedges scenting about as both dogs had been marking there,, he did get bit carried away went bit futher up the edge , but called him and i trotted the other way , and he came right back, done that few times with and it worked great . Bryn does his own thing and just plods on lol , but he followed Buck about who was going nice steady with him , prob as well because he got cut on his front leg . was out for 1 1/2 hour and little woody loved it , he quite a fiery little bugger, a couple of black mongrels came up to him sniff him, he growled and hackles up , I think he make great ratting dog . Told me son today when he picked him up ,that's he been off the lead and he was great, he said I think you was right thendad , so got something right then . Woody with his toy lol 3 Quote Link to post

slip lead 862
If his toy obsessive, you can use that to your advantage in any training he might need, even a dog of his age, and fare play to your son, for giving him a second chance Happy Hunting Edited January 24, 2015 by slip lead 1 Quote Link to post
