oneredtrim 148
'Keep the working classes in the pubs and out of the libraries' Was it his sister or sister in law that had to beg him not to go Islamic? Two examples of mis-quoted bollocks. Try harder next time redrim Quite. As he was to show in 1923, when he secretly accepted £5,000 -- the equivalent of perhaps millions in today's money -- from Burmah Oil to lobby the British government to allow Burmah to collar Persian oil resources. Is that ^ the same as cash for questions or am i getting me rim arse about?...how much is 100k (then) set aside £'s for a mosque in London....in todays dough
neil cooney 10,416
He didn't like us Irish but I have to admit he had some brilliant quotes. I like the one where he had a day's shooting on some estate every year and in '38 the keeper said "see you next year Sir". He replied "I think next year it wont be pheasants we'll be shooting."
Blackbriar 8,569
Ive read that it was (allegedly) the Labour MP Bessie Braddock who said to him "Winston, you are drunk !", and without missing a beat, he replied "Dear lady, you are ugly ! But in the morning I will be sober !"

Mickey Finn 3,087
I wonder if he lived today wether he would regret not accepting the peace offerings from germany and focussed on beating the bigger danger of marxism. “If Hitler invaded hell I would make at least a favourable reference to the devil in the House of Commons.” No, I don't think so.
dare 1,103
I remember doing a funeral in westerham and whilst waiting outside one of the undertakers was speaking about the statue. Proper going deep into the history so for a laugh after he was done i asked "who is winston Churchill?" Literally spat his tea out n made a face like he was gonna give me a slap. Family just started coming out and the other undertakers was struggling so much not to laugh out loud. Know some may think its a depressing job but best job ive had so far was at the undertakers. Mr Churchill replied "If you were my wife I'd drink it."
marshman 7,758
One ought never to turn ones back on threatened danger and try to run away from it. If you do , you will double the danger. But if you meet it promptly without flinching, you will reduce the danger by half . Never Never run away from anything . Never! Winston Chirchill true as it was back then as it is today !
