If every dog that missed their first rabbits lost their confidence, there would not be many dogs catching rabbits. I used to do things differently, but that does not make me right and Gaffer wrong and

its all experiance gafer they learn nowt sat in a pen mate there your dogs so u do what u think best by the way there looking well pal atb mate

took the pups out for there 1st lamping trip weather was cracking not shit loads of rabbits but enough for a few runs anyway 1st run was the bitch i walked her up i thought she had spotted it but she

If both dogs got few runs each and you can handle them both in the field what's the problem? there young its not really their first season yet its just experience, and they don't look like the type of dogs to lose confidence from a few misses, atb Gaf they a nice looking pair I'd like to see em in a few years time :)

it was just lack of experience from the pups thats all pace wise they have more than enough that was the 1st time ever they saw a rabbit running about as i said was just unlucky not to connect

 

my pup caught its first rab at 4 half month old infact it caught 2 that day

We all do things different and this is gaffers way and all the dogs have to do is please him so put the peanut butter away lol and get them out again better luck next time

they will be out when they turn 9 months for more runs at the end of the day work them no one else
you enjoy them gaffer you've brought them up and done it well by the looks of them have fun atb

Fair play gaffer always reared 2 pups together and brought them on I cant see the problem as ling as your fit enough and father time hasn't caught up on you to quick lol best of luck with your pups I've 2 younguns for next season they near 7 months and I've 3 running dogs and an old bitch and I'm no young lad lol just love the game mainly bigears and bits lamping and ferreting atvb

only 33 but feel older :laugh: i only lamp with my dogs tbh infact i am off again tonight round two lol

If you have a tried and tested method of entering dogs, then stick with it. that is not to say that you cannot add to or subtract from pieces of it at a later date.
