Been out the past couple of nights roost shooting, to woods that are usually heaving with woodies and haven't seen one, not many corvids either, managed a rook and a rabbit last night, then a carrion crow tonight...... I'm reckoning the weather's that bad that there sheltering in the conifers

Ooh there was! A nice pigeon breast, celery and carrot casserole. Pigeon breasts flash fried then wrapped in bacon, over a bed of celery and carrots. Then a pint of chicken stock with tomato puree, chopped garlic, bayleaf and a few mixed herbs poured over and baked in a low oven. Served with a pile of mash. Tasted lovely! So lovely that the remnants (a couple of tablespoons of mash and two breasts of pigeon with some veggies) has become todays lunch!
