nottzhunter08 898
had a trip with a buddy who got us on some good land towards Yorkshire dales.... we started off by arriving at his place for lamping and having a few hours with our dogs on the bunnies... well this is my first ever trip towards Yorkshire dales and I had high hopes.... there was 3 of us and 3 dogs so we was hoping for a good few runs for them each... we bagged 9 in the first hour and then returned to the car for a tea as the weather was terrible with hailstone rain... then we had a drive round lamping a few fields for an hour having a slip here and there and bagged another 8... then on the last few fields bagged up 6... I was impressed with my bitch and she wasn't missing much and I take my hats off to the other lads dogs as they done very well and was very unlucky to of not put more in the bag... LASS had 16... GIZMO had 4... RED had 3... so the end tally was 23... after a few hours sleep we was back out ferreting with the longnet and dogs... we only managed a few hours as I had to be home earlyish to pick my daughter up from school and we was all abit tired from the long drive and lamping the night before... we ferreted a few sets and bagged some in the long net as the ground was perfect as they were field warrens... LASS caught me another two out of a warren catching one with brains as she knew when and where the bunny was coming from... RED had a good catch picking a rabbit up with some speed and she retrieves every rabbit she comes by in style... so after a tired but enjoyable few hours ferreting we racked up 13 and called it a day to head home... cheers for looking final photo of the day... in order RED LASS GIZMO... LASS'S bag of 16... good stuff 4 Quote Link to post

bird 10,014
IMO the Dales are no better than other areas in uk Maybe once over but no more They been hammered the last ten years and the Internet didn't help matters. was the film +book(watership down) based on the dales , I think I am right .lol I always liked that film , some good character actors in it . 1 Quote Link to post

dodger 3,590
Sounds like youse had a good night good stuff and each to there own but would you not of been better off takin just the one dog or even just 2 with the rabbits caught evened out abit more, can't think of out worse than tryin to get enough runs for 3 dogs unless a place was lifting with gear to do em all justice.. 1 Quote Link to post
