A friend of mine lost his old bitch last week broke her neck on the same walk she's done daily for 8 years, freak accident wasn't even chasing or running nothing just sniffing about and must of caught her head on something,

my 8month came limping back other day. It was her back leg and I when I got home she wouldn't sit or lay down and everytime she put weight on it she cried her heart out. I gave her ibuprofen to take help her out. I though she had broken or fractured something. The pain was in the same place my cousins dog fractured and was retired. I was already considering her best option's but next day was absolutely fine. Thank god I haven't got time anymore keeping dogs with serious injuries.

Thank feck we are having abit of luck with the bad luck.

It’s a dangerous game, I've had one break its neck, dead in minutes, one smash it's shoulder past redemption, put down, and another break it's wrist resulting in a pet home. Mind I've been doing it for 40 years.

I love the idea of putting a neck back in, likely had a protective neck muscle spasm, to protect the area and the back man wrenched it out of spasm, hopefully not doing more damage. If the neck was even a tiny weeny bit out it would have resulted in death or a degree of paralyses. Hopefully there isn't an un- displaced fracture that the spasm was protecting.

Rew I'm pretty sure ibuprofen is bad for dogs,,,paracetamol ,,is the one to use,,,,but just to be sure,,,skycat,,sandymere,,or socks will know for sure

It’s all about dose really. It’s not necessarily bad but it has a narrow range of safety and human strength doses would be risky. All Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory meds can cause problems which is why metacam or similar from the vet is going to be prescribed at the right dose and that’s the important thing, the right dose..
