gnasher16 31,602
A saucer of beer eh ?......What like just plonked in the middle of the floor ? The sheds not rotting or anything and im a bit obssessive with animal hygiene you could eat your dinner off the cage floors most of the time and the seed bins have locking lids etc so its not a dirty smelly gaff by any means......i,ll take a pic of them tonight there was a real weird one last night like a grey and black spotty thing.....im just worried about them getting in the bird cages i dont suppose they,re all that good for a bird if they start pecking at them !..............i,ll have a look into the copper strips as well, cheers

Truther 1,579
Slugs and snails carry a good few parasites, dangerous to humans and dogs, lungworm in particular, they shit the eggs out all over. I get loads here, i usually feed the dogs on the patio and if i don't pick the bowls up there's slugs all over them in minutes, i always wash the bowls before each feed though, even when i do pick them up after i feed. Lungworm can be fatal to dogs (and humans i think?) it can cause anemia and a type of Hemophilia, better safe than sorry, Thought that was worth a mention.
Bosun11 537
Beer traps work well, best if you sink a jar in the ground outside. Salts good but messy and like copper is only a deterent unless poured direct. I'd just get some good 'ol slug pellets and put em out of harms way, like under the shed. Not a slug or snail in sight within a couple of days.
