I don't think you can "re-privatise" something that's already private......that's called stealing (or appropriation of private individuals property by the government)

Come to think of it, sounds right up any politicians street !! Lol lol

Sorry to say, Wilf, but you CAN; it's called a "compulsory purchase order". It's happened many times in the past when the government has wanted to build or expand something, and houses and businesses have be bought weather the owners wanted to sell or not.

Aye, stealing......except you don't have to call it stealing because you are giving them a few quid well under market value.

If it was a private individual forcing someone to sell for well under the market rate surely that would be extortion and they would lock you up ?

What's the big catch phrase at the moment ?........ahh, I remember......"Fairness" !! Lol lol

They couldn't have the snp on a televised debate ... No fukcer would understand a word they were saying lol ........

It was so much easier in the old days when a northern Baron would just raise an English army and quash rebellious Scotsmen like you Joe.

Oddly enough, I pretty much agree with that (opposed as I am to nationalised industry).......except for the NHS bit, more money won't solve their problems IMHO

They have had a fortune and still can't function.

Not sure why everyone is suddenly knocking the NHS but it seems since all the propaganda in the USA as they tried to stop a similar system over there and attacked the NHS with biased data to prove a point, people over here seem to be blindly following the Americans. I’m not saying the NHS is perfect but its pretty fecking good!!

Seems people are more concerned with scoring political points than supporting one of our proudest achievements!

I can only speak how I find with the NHS mate, it's a monster eating money and the standard of work by and large is shite.

Unless you have a limb hanging off its a completely wasted exercise visiting an A&E department as they can't be arsed and the doctors are not of sufficient calibre to diagnose correctly.

There's a constant air of martyrdom hanging round the hospitals which would be better to get replaced with professionalism instead.

It's always "if only we had more money".......well we have mortgaged the nation paying for it and it's still crap !!

It's not like it's even cheap, private is way cheaper by comparison.

I don't even bother now, I just phone the private for my kids.

Both my daughters have had breaks completely missed.......my youngest had 5 bones broken in her foot and they said "nothing wrong with her!!"

My oldest has just broke a bone in her foot, same story again

Only the private doctor found the breaks.......far as I know they all have access to the same training and equipment ?

My story is the same as loads of other, the NHS has given up.

What? As the links show it’s cheaper and better than USA where private rules, and compared to similar systems across Europe is also one of the best but that doesn’t fit with your view so best ignore it eh?

Remember private doctors are trained in the NHS and those who are the best and want to progress their art stay.

As I say political shenanigans to score points.

Go to a private doctor with chest pain and he'll send you to the NHS, have your hip done privately and get a complication like a PE and they'll send you to the NHS why because it’s better and not about making money but doing things because its what is best and cost effective.

From your post you obviously know little of the reality of health just a few anecdotal tales. I suggest if you want to know about private practice take a dog to the vet, that’s private practice, have you got insurance good we’ll pile up the bill.......

I don't claim to speak for the nation mate, as I said only asI find.

As you links shows, the NHS costs every working person around £65 a week, my 4 kids health insurance costs around £25 a week !!!.......that's for all 4 of them !!

Why can private get it right first time and it's takes the NHS umpteen go's (all if which you are paying for)........it's not a trick question and it's not politics, it's the fact of what I see.

You talk about politics, the NHS is one of the most politicised organisations in the world......even the modern socialist Tory party is scared to mention it's name unless it's to blow smoke up your arses.

I am very good friends with a midwife, she comes from a massive family, been round kids all her life and is ace at her job ( I should know having done it 4 times)......she is head MF on her ward

She got suspended for daring to say another midwife is shit at her job........this is the culture, where shoddy workers are protected just because they happen to work in the health service !

No wonder we are getting served up shit !!

The NHS is like the emperors new clothes, every f****r is scared to tell it like it is for fear of derision !!

Totally agree with that Max

My yougest had 3 broken metatarsals and 2 bones in her ankle, my oldest had the 5th metatarsal broken......one year apart, the hospital did and X-ray both times and both times said there's nothing wrong

The private foot specialist just felt their feet and told me right away what it was (even down to the exact bones) and sure enough the X-ray (and MRI to double check) proved him totally correct !!

14 years ago my wife miscarried, we were unlucky enough for it to happen on a bank holiday......she laid in A&E all day bleeding while they f****d around trying to find a doctor who wasn't directly out of the jungle, them we were told sorry, everyone is off for the weekend can't do anything till Tuesday.......by Tuesday our little thumb size baby was dead.

I had to sit and watch it all play out helpless, these people didn't give a shit.

The attitude was "not our fault, no resources" same as always.

I mean, seriously what the f**k is wrong with these no hopers !!!

And just to add, seeing as there was mentioned of vets, took a dog with a broken leg to Noel Fitzpatrick......this was in November and the dog was running again in January

Worth every last penny !!!

I've put up here a few times my views on the NHS, I've spent that much time in hospitals over the last 5 years with my wife I feel like a doctor myself...

Some of the nurses are angels but more and more are a waste of space with no people skills ( well a grasp of the English language would be a start).

The list of problems we've had is endless, it truly is embarrassing, miss diagnosis, wrong medicines ( lots of times) one time causing such a bad reaction my wife ended up in StThomas Hospital in London as our local hospital had no idea how to treat her ( they were amazing in London, the ward was a dump the people were a breath of fresh air and truly great)..

Back to our hospital during one blood transfusion my wife had to stop them because they were giving her the wrong blood, they even argued with her before checking the notes and realising the error,

Once the blood was going in it was supposed to take 3 hours but went through in 1 1/2 hrs they then tried to argue with her what time it started, I said it was when I rang her checked my phone and proved the time, watched the nurse scribble out the time and change it... f***ing mad..

I could go on all night, as said some are great but a lot of shit.. They wouldn't last in a job based on performance that's for sure..

My wife's on the mend ( sort of) it's taken 5 years and 3 major ops)...

In the future we'll only use private..

I wish it just was the odd one off bad experience, unfortunately I would say at best it was 50-50 good to bad.

The noise is mental, I've a few times had to ask nurses having a good old yap and laugh to quiet down a bit, they're right outside if the ward where some people have just had major ops and are recovering.

Another time a nurse wouldn't help an old lady to get her slippers on, she said she needed to start being more Independant, I understand that... My wife in the bed opposite could watch the struggle no longer and got out to help her herself..maybe wrong but Ffs this is an old lady, the wife still rings and visits her now..

Here's another

A very close friend of mines son has been having loads of trouble with his hearing, for a long time he's been passed around the NHS merry go round, this poor kid is 12 just starting senior school and really struggling..

They couldn't get an answer in what if was of his to fix it,, on and on it's gone, the lad missing days of school cause at times he was all but deaf...

Finally they went private within a month the lads been fitted with very discreet hearing aids, his dad I'd i. Bits cause his lad is saying things like " wow dad I can hear the indicators I haven't heard them for ages" he reckons he's going round the houses banging walls and making loads of noise with a big smile in his face..

Why didn't the NHS sort it?

Why did it have to cost an honest hard working man extra to get his son sorted?

I'm sorry to say it but the NHS is shit, it should be the jewel in our crown, but it's not...

I can add to the 50/50 experiences myself.. My daughter was diagnosed with a fracture to her ankle that wasn't there and a dislocated finger that wasn't there. My boy has got a genetic condition that means hes likely to form kidney stones from time to time unless its managed properly, it was 18 months after he was diagnosed that they got round to telling me and his mother. I was in and out of hospital myself for close to 5 years before they finally got round to sending me for the treatment they started talking about then changing their minds. 2 years later, 7 in total and I'm back in work. Best part of my 30's gone.

On the plus side, once I got moved to a hospital in a different trust area things moved very quickly and I got sorted.

I'm not so stupid as to not know that there will be many stories the complete opposite to some of the lads on here, mine included but let's have it right......this is not some back street mechanics we are talking about who can be hit or miss.....

These are people who are paid to look after human beings health......they have to be spot on every time!!!

They are always telling us what a good job they do and how they don't have any money........trouble is, we know that's all bollocks cause we know how much the whole f***ing lot costs !!

f**k me, a carpenter don't come round your house to hang a door, only put 1 hinge on and say "see how that gets on, if it falls down you can pay me again to fit another hinge !!"..........this is happening daily in the NHS !!

Bang on Wilf..

If I f****d up as much I'd never get another job, f**k me the steels only got to be 10mm out and I'm pulled over the coals.. If the roof leaks or even worse air escapes ( oh we're all so green now).. Then you can start racking up the counter charges ( £850 on a recent KFC for a failed air test, considering the air result they're aiming did is impossible to hit a bit unfair I reckon)..

Any how, what happens when there's a f**k up in our hospitals.... Nothing... Not even an apology..

Listen when someone is hanging up a bag of blood with O positive on it and you're A positive that's not a little mistake, that's a possible death Ffs..

Malt the problems are nation wide.. The best care by far was in London.. The doctors were unbelievable but she had to be refered to a professor ( the top man in this field in the country) before they could solve a problem they had caused..

This is people's lives. I would love to sit here and say the NHS Iis the best, I want to be proud, I want to be patriotic... But it's not, it really is quite shit...
