Why do you think there is no other life ... Its a very arrogant and closed view to think we are the only life form in existence and that the earth is the only inhabited planet ..........

Perspective...   http://www.ba-bamail.com//view.aspx?emailid=12288&MemberId=0&

Lol, no billions have been invested in the current mission of voyager.

The 'let's keep our heads down' ship sailed when we invented radio!

And again, voyagers are not looking for alien life. Their final mission is to take the first experimental measurements beyond our solar system. Shortly after that they're dead in the water and will just sail around the galaxy until their destruction.

Its not really a question i think about, cause its a hypothetical one?

It hasnt happened so i dont know, for me thats just spectulating, imagining lol.

But i dont think theres any life anywere, cause our planet is special,in terms of water, atmosphere etc an an i come to realize that life cant start from non living matter! Jmo t

Fair comment, it was not a trick question. The thing is we all believe that all life needs oxygen, but just how much does life need. I remember seeing a program about worms that live in sulphur out falls from an undersea volcano. The sea around the outfalls is almost pure acid yet these worms still live there.

It just made me think that an atmosphere similar to ours is not a prerequisite for life, life can be found in much harsher conditions.

Who the fec wants to know the measurements of stars?

its a total bawlax and a waste of money to send anything into space.

Thank f**k our ancestors didn't take that view, they'd never have left the cave.
well good luck lol on your mission. Edited by TUFFTY

Whats the point in knowing size of stars,it wont make a diff to anyones lives especially, the suffering,an needy, homeless etc

them billions would go a very long way to help people instead its gona float round cosmos gathering dust.

Just a pointless waste of money or are they benifits of knowing this crock?

There are big gaps between solar systems.... Voyager 2s original mission, ended years ago. They then decided to fire it off into interstellar space, out of our solar system where it will complete it's 'bonus' mission of taking the first direct measurements of the density and temperature of space. These measurements will help with our understanding of cosmology. There is no mission that involves anything to do with travelling to other stars to take measurements.

If you're so concerned about wasted money maybe we should introduce a law whereby any money people have for recreation should be forcibly spent of charity, rather than pointless shit like fun and enjoyment. Pure experimental research is fundamental to science, it's completely justified and anybody reading this on a computer would be a complete hypocrite to say otherwise, one in millions of other examples.
