And again, voyagers are not looking for alien life. Their final mission is to take the first experimental measurements beyond our solar system. Jmo t Fair comment, it was not a trick question. The thing is we all believe that all life needs oxygen, but just how much does life need. I remember seeing a program about worms that live in sulphur out falls from an undersea volcano. The sea around the outfalls is almost pure acid yet these worms still live there. They then decided to fire it off into interstellar space, out of our solar system where it will complete it's 'bonus' mission of taking the first direct measurements of the density and temperature of space. These measurements will help with our understanding of cosmology. There is no mission that involves anything to do with travelling to other stars to take measurements. If you're so concerned about wasted money maybe we should introduce a law whereby any money people have for recreation should be forcibly spent of charity, rather than pointless shit like fun and enjoyment. Pure experimental research is fundamental to science, it's completely justified and anybody reading this on a computer would be a complete hypocrite to say otherwise, one in millions of other examples.
