Dont Speak English ?

Recommended Posts

Went to hospital today, with my shoulder injury ,just to sign off as it not going to improve just stay as it is , got reasonable movement so that's it. Seen the Doc ,and came out of room and heard some raised voices . A nurse + secretary were telling a mid age Asian bloke+wife and kids to leave the hospital , the kids were having a wash in toilets . then father was trying to take them to the canteen to get some food .? The secretary said they got no appointment or to visit , so shouldn't be in building , the nurse went to stop him , he spun around and said something in his lingo , and got be swearing . he carried on walking so go in front of him and he stopped, by then the security people had come and made them leave . The nurse said thanks but said I should not intervene , as if I got hurt you would not be insured , I said if he had grab me , one of us would be spending the night in there ,and it wont be me lol she laughed . But what crap job they have dealing with prats like them , nurse said they don't speak English , yeh only when it suits them I bet

Anyone coming to live here for any length of time should learn the language. Isn't it a pre-requisite for citizenship application now? If not it should be.

Worked in Holland a few years ago with a bunch of lads from Teeside. Was saying it was handy for us, none of whom could speak more than a few words of Dutch, that the locals mostly all spoke English. This guy piped up with "yeah, the Dutch are okay they've mostly got English, but I worked in Germany before and the c**nts won't even make an effort to learn English". He was offended that Germans in Germany couldn't converse with him in English.

"Now I know we won the war" I said, "but don't you think that's asking a bit much?". He genuinely didn't have a clue what I was getting at

I went to visit BPR's wife and newborn in hospital and she was in the maternity ward with a Muslim and they were asking about getting issued passports etc and then were going on about taking blood from the umbilical cord and how it was to do with their beliefs (never heard of it)

Went to the children's hospital with my lad when he broke his wrist, he was about 6 year old at the time, they have a triage room where a nurse identifies the type of injury the child has,

Before us was a young Asian/Pakistani lass about the same age clearly in pain with her stomach and she was having to translate to her parents what the nurse was saying and translate the answers to the questions back to the nurse whilst doubled up in pain. I thought poor lass and then I thought what a f*ckin shit set of parents she has.

Mates sister is a physiotherapist and was treating an asian guy one day for a shoulder complaint. So she's moving his arm around and asking him how he done it and when & where it's sore etc. All he would say is 'real pain' in his thick asian accent. Treated him for about fifteen minutes and his response to everything she asked was a kind of an 'I don't understand' look and he'd just say 'real pain'. Anyway, she done all she thought she could and sent him on his way.

A couple of minutes later he walks back into the room and says "any chance you could pass me my jacket pal, I left it on the chair". Feckin chancer.

I've met a few people from various corners of the world and 9/10 of them could speak fluent English. Our empire days have done us some good even in the present. LOL

A little ignorant to be immigrant with no desire to learn the local lingo though.

Thing is, they probably do 'but' they choose not to due to their arrogance.

Absolutely, we are lucky in a way that English is so international, I'm a lazy twat, I'll admit that....what makes it worse is my wife is French & she speaks 6 languages & is learning a 7th!.......if I don't pull my finger out soon, my boy & her will be talking a language I don't understand......& that's not good.....

Yeah, the rest of the educated world see English as a necessity, it's the universal language. Leaves me feeling a little embarrassed not being fluent in other languages but at the same time lucky and proud that my native language is the number 1. LOL.

Also a noteable number of the foreigners I've had the pleasure of meeting seemed to like the accent. LOL LOL.

Not my choice Truther, the lads were almost all from the Teeside area. Think maybe their parents could all have been from Pakistan, but the lads were all 100% English speaking Englishmen. As someone once said, stupid is as stupid does.... that's pretty much me.

The Bradford lads, now were they white?

Jog on steamer....
