Recommended Posts

Sire is out of spike pie bred he's 13 years old still works the lamp and still dose the job to a high standerd . Dam is out of reece bryn and Sally she's about 8 .9 years old both dogs tested to a high standerd with many seasons under there belt

Just out of interest whats the Dams name ?

half cross is best i think if you select the right ones. The more bull the cleverer the dog. day or night at any task except hare coursing. I used to keep 3/4 types but too much grey means too many injuries.

What I have seen in ones I owned 3/4 got no wind

A good half x is the best for when the going gets tough

3/8...5/8 is best for allround work out of the 3 bull xs ,

3/8...5/8 with coursing blood instead of G Hound hard to beat as allrounder in the lurcher world

These are just my veiws ,which are like assholes we all have them

bullxgrey x saluki xgrey heard very good things about this x  wonder what 1x bull x saluki like , should be spot on for most stuff you would think , with plenty of stamina , and not over heavy with saluki giving a lighter frame +drive, plus plenty of guts from the the pure bull

I think a coursing dog ( best to best for years )much better than a saluki x to breed to bull , they are spot on , and as you say fast and agile and tackle anything infront of them ,strong jaw , but only 26tts and 67 lb fit  maybe just me but i prefer bit more bull like 3/8 5/8 with coursing dog blood instead of g/hound ,seems to tick all the boxes

To be honest read your post wrong , bull x saluki , cant see being any better than tried and tested coursing dog to tried and tested gen bull x .....for the simple fact best to best in cousrsing dog for years better than a pure saluki ,and you wont find a bull better these days than the ones used to start some bull lines off 25 years ago
