Another leghold from the tiny collection.......

this is rubber coated and hold the animal with the minimum of discomfort. Why are these not being trialed in the UK as an alternative to snaring? They would (possibly) be more effective and the animal will always be alive, only held by two rubber pads.

I truly think the bodies that are working on our side should be actively trying to get new traps legalised, and even if they fail it is still a bargaining buffer-zone for keeping the status quo.

nice trap these legholds,they seem really affective i have seen a few vids on youtube they hold well.. i was gonna buy some oneida 110 but i held off cos i was not sure if he did the magnum.. i know oneida was big in the bodygrips but i couldnt find magnum 110 im probably blind.

I can't see a video of something being held by the leg as anything less than damaging for our cause , our buffer zone was/is fox hunting or it's variants. But it's just my opinion, I get what you're saying but there must be a better buffer surely?

I was refering to snaring foxes, not hunting. Sorry if i was unclear.

Could be folks view the leg hold like the old gin trap hence they won't make them legal just my opinion

I'm presuming that those who make the laws on trapping still believe the old myth that a mammal caught by the leg will chew it's own leg off to escape.

I think we need to concentrate on protecting what we have, rather than trying to bring in other methods!

ah at least i aint blind... i looked all over and could only find 110 standard type without the mag jaws.

i think law makers need to be sensible,death is not nice humane or anything like. but these traps work.. and release look at this fool.. lol

 

watch the cat walk off though.. he looks shaken but all good.

heres another check out the cats feet as it attacks the car wheel at the end they look good.

 

i think the genral public view of these traps is like they are gins..but i still i like em.

the trouble is the trap would have to be laid open to everything that passes to work,it would not be indiscriminate enough ie small child that kind of thing,but I agree we should always look and consider,new options,

where i live you would have to have a man on duty just to release foxhounds from these traps ,.........a very good trap but the country is to small and over populated .

There are a lot of traps abroad that's worth a look at, there methods work without doubt,but they just wont get passed over here,when you see the colarum work its spot on,a real tool worth investing in,but whats the difference in that and a bait stick spring snare,one that will break off the spring when sprung,the spring only sets the noose as the colarum does,and the bait and location they are set in acts as a filter for non target species,and that's the thing non target species,we really are disadvantaged over here when it comes to trapping, all through public opinion,
