tsteve9999 456
First one I've seen on the local canal for 10 years or so. Is it just my area or have they dissapeared all over? When I was a kid you'd see or hear one in the rushes every few yards, yet now the canals are clean there are none. I know mink have been blamed but to be honest we don't have many round here so I don't think they are the cause.

scothunter 12,609
Not seen one since for about 20 year. Used to see them down the burn and canal when I was a kid. Used to shoot em with an air rifle. Didn't know any better thought they were rats lol

It's strange how things change over the years, I see kingfishers occasionally nowadays, but there are hardly any sticklebacks in our canals.
CBdogsA1 420
There was a spot on countryfile on sunday showing a place where they are re-introducing them in England. Few hundred if I remember correctly at a mink free place.
