4X4 Lamping

Recommended Posts

Is there any advantages/disadvantages of lamping out a 4x4?

Is it true that lads throw the dogs out the windows/doors whilst at speed in pursuit of their quarry?

Is it lazyness or are these lads seeing more rabbits than the lads who walk?

just curious

I bet if it wasn't possible to lamp from a motor there wouldn't be half as many lads keeping lurcher's.

Trouble is when most people talk about lamping from a 4x4 they picture a Subaru screaming across a stubble field and having 1/2 crosses thrown out the windows at quarry which will be left behind after

So many lurcher lads these days all talk about kill kill kill.   If that's what your after get a 22.250 and a thermal imaging kit, you will be a legend within the week   Id prefer to be out enjoy

LOL

I thought he was looking for a bite as well.

Can certainly cover more ground an so put more in front of the dogs,

also can keep stuff in the beam for longer.

Don't mind it occaisionally but walkings the real "traditional" way IMO

Cheers, D.

What you mean apart from pissing off the landowners and running the dogs over?

Prefer to walk and watch the wildlife.

have you heard of somebody running their dog over?

My lil whippet cross bitch ran into a landy at full speed. Landy was completely stationary but rabbit headed for it, she broke her neck in 3 places and her mouth was a right mess

Yeh rabbits can be tricky somtimes from the truck,,, going round a field clockwise,,,next to the hedge,,, they will often run underneath ,,,or round the back,,, it handy to have a spotlight on the back of the truck you can switch on ...
