To Damp To Lamp... Bad Weather

Recommended Posts

the wet summer 2012 fecked the rabbit population round here, and although they started picking up over the summer this past month has seen them sitting out in cover again, as so many of the burrows are flooded. and they are just easy targets for the foxes ( more foxes round here for the last couple of years than i've evr seen before). whats more, as sirius said the rabbits just wont sit out in the water logged fields - its clay round here mostly too. ferretting is out, lamping is out, just trying to beat the foxes at the bushing game!

I've been bushing loads of skinny rabbits lately this past few weeks, in fact so much so I'm thinking of giving them a break on certain farms that have been constantly in a couple of inches of water, I'm off out lamping on one now to start a mates pup off so it will be interesting to see whats about, till later, WM

Well, I'm just back in and there were plenty about on the drier fields but next to nothing on the ground that's been holding water, my mates pup done good for its first nights lamping, she caught 3 out of 4 runs and looks as if she's been at it all her life, bodes well for the future, but she is a very well bred bitch, WM
