marshman 7,758
Fair point malt but I didn't just mean mild rascism and sexism though .I once had to go on a writing course and they had a guest speaker, basically a bloke that got hes script commissioned and it made it to tv . It was set in a shop and Martin Freeman was in it, anyway long story short he said that he didn't think that only fools and horses would get commissioned today because and get this he thought it glorified greed lol. And the powers that be like sitcoms to have a social conscious lol.
stabba 10,745
Late 60's and 70's were the heyday for proper british comedy. Nothing at all comes close now.Rising Damp...Reggie Perrin...Porridge....Open all hours...Steptoe and Son...Love Thy Neighbour...On the Buses.....Then the likes of Benny Hill...Dick emery...Tommy Cooper...The list is endless...Sadly i dont think any modern Comedy's Or Comedians will be remembered as fondly as the old lot were. Jmo though.
sowhat 1,572
The Royale family is probably the best modern comedy, Craig Cash is a funny guy, but they don't make them like they used to .

gnasher16 31,442
I cant watch many of these sitcoms they have on these days...that Benidorm shit is on right this minute it makes me want to throw up theres nothing funny about trying to shock you !......When you think back to things like Mind your Language,George and Mildred,Porridge,Rising Damp they were just generally funny they didnt need to be shocking to get a laugh....shame the way comedy has gone.
