Lost Collar

Recommended Posts

Had a six foot dig today. One of the ferrets worked its collar off, bloody hard graft.

It's amazing had difficult they are to retrieve when it's not attached to a ferret; must make sure it is better attached next time. This has happened to me before and I'm sure it was the same ferret. At £71 each you've got to get them back.

That's nothing,,,I lost the actual box last year,,,,,and it's still there somewhere searched for it a good few times

I lost a mk3m box and two collars the season before. Learning to fly a harris. Took off my bag in a busy tourist attraction car park to don the falconry gear, then walked off, bird in hand. Didnt realise till the day was over and I was 10 mile away back at home..

I have lost a collar and as all my work is in holly

or blackthorn hedges you can imagine the pain to

get it back.

I have been thinking about attaching a strap to it with velcro

that goes down the ferrets back and around him just behind the

front legs anybody tried some thing like it ????

Hi Andy

I looked at harnesses but I was concerned that they could

snag underground and trap the ferret thats why I was

thinking about velcro that could be pulled free

Sam

If its gonna come away when caught, you gonna lose it. More holes in the collar, tight fit. Job done. Never had a slip since adding more holes. The more stuff hanging off a ferret, the more chance its got of getting caught up or disturbing the nets.
