the_stig 6,614
the controversy wasn't caused by froch it will always say on his record tko round 9 if age was on his side grooves would be getting his rematch if you you had one fight left would you try and clear up a controversy you hadn't caused or avenge the defeat .... Controversy in sport happens for a thousand reasons it dont mean you walk away from it if its not your fault.............you dont think Froch has double standards expecting Ward to do something he wont do himself ?.......and Ward beat him convincingly with no controversy. yes I do gnash -- hbo pulling the strings they want froch in America... at the moment theres not many big fights in any division that would pull as much as ward v froch.. gnasher16 31,602
He,s not out to build a career mate he,s at the other end.....fighters looking to leave a legacy on the sport choose their own direction......whatever opponent Froch fights next will ultimately be his own choice as Groves was his mandatory. the_stig 6,614
hinted at retirement on local radio-----read the bit if I decide to fight again ..... makes sense to me why would he want another war with groves at his age when groves as already got his measure frochs been a good champion and now people are knocking him on a refs decision ----- ward or chevez is the sensible way to go he`s to long in the tooth/ set in his ways to change his style for groves ....if he don't retire I wouldn't begrudge him one more glory fight .I`m sure if age was on frochs side groves would feature somewhere in the plans .......groves needs to move on and forget froch --

I think Ward is the direction he will want to take as its a fight he,s not expected to win so puts him in a nice position................but as loathe as i am to call a fighter a " warrior " as its a stupid label to give a professional sportsman.......he does play up to the tag. He wont beat Ward he knows that.................so why not go out with a good old fashioned tear up....................my opinion is theres more credit in losing to Ward than losing to Groves and its likely he,ll lose to either.
bryson 562
everything Gnasher has said is true theres no argument stig please just admit froch is now a joke he has lost alot of fans due to his stupidness hes not the warrior he claims he is like i said earlier its about the money now and Gnash got it spot on double standards he wont fight old news Groves but expects old news Ward to fight him even though he got out boxed for at least 10 rounds by Ward hes a c**t end of and to think i respected the man for what he had done im ashamed at myself

the_stig 6,614
as a fight fan I`d love to see him fight groves again ----- I`m looking at it from frochs point and what makes sense to him ...
bryson 562
i used to dislike him the way he used to bad mouth Calzaghe but then i warmed to him. going in to the fight with Groves i could only see Groves winning but he was robbed Froch said after the fight he would fight him again but now he wont and he still calls himself a warrior hes just lying to himself he will be remembered for this fight and the next fight he takes which will be a loss if he chooses Ward
Taggy123 59
I think what makes sense to froch is getting a big pay day and not getting smashed up like he did against groves. Ward will probably tip and tap away to a points win.

" making sense " is not what warriors who fight anyone do though mate he cant have it both ways....i remember him saying in interviews " i avoid no man "......he even told Calzaghe to come out of retirement saying " its only boxing "...............its an attitude thats not so easy to have when your on the way down though I have a lot of respect for Froch and i know where he,s at career wise.......but theres plenty of people who will just say what they see and it does look like he,s avoiding Groves.. A very good friend of mine whos been in the game a long time once said " The same people calling you a hero on the way up......will be calling you an arsehole on the way down " .........always stuck in my mind that.
bryson 562
but you and i know Ward will have watched his last (poor) performance and he would take libs on Froch hes not the fighter now that hes making out there would be no tip taps
