pianoman 3,589
Turncoat ........ I know...Oh god it's been a torturous decision Craig. You have no idea the sleepless nights I've not had! Best of luck with this new rifle Simon. It really is a beautiful gun. I was considering one myself but my local RFD told me that the waiting time for one was in excess of six weeks - clearly there are many folk who have also been smitten! Cheers for this ecp2012. I was told the same from Wighill Park Guns when I ordered this one. But, heyho, I can wait. She'll be ready when I've got finished getting us both moved into the new house. I was out with my HW77 .22 while shooting with Helen and it was shooting absolutely beautifully on the dots of the panorama I put on it. I'll never change my spots seriously. I think Andy, my mate here has a valid point he made when I told him what I was buying. He said "You'll be bored with it in 6 months and it'll stay on the rack while you go back to springers again.!" Well, we'll see. But it is a truly beautiful rifle and to own it means owning a PCP. I am honestly smitten with it. Simon Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,589
well done mate nice gun Thanks too jjm. I thought I've seen enough of PCPs over the many years I've had in shooting, that left me unimpressed, when compared to my spring rifles, which are full of character and soul as well as being incredibly accurate. But the Huntsman has a really lovely bolt action, it's very smooth and slick on indexing shot in the magazine. I love static hide shooting for my hunting style and this rifle will be brilliant for that alone! All the best to you too mate. Simon Quote Link to post

villaman 9,982
Nice Guns Simon , have one in .177 and its good but a lot of money for what you get compared HW 100 kt or ks . It shoots great and feels great as well. I have put on the new Huggett Belita silencer on it and it seems to be one of the best ones to put on. Pellets , JSB heavies and H&N ftt seem to be the best in mine, even at 60 yards . Just hope you have more luck as mine had to go back with a stiff bolt and under powered and been told another ten went back as well from the same shop ,not good for the price you pay for this gun . 1 Quote Link to post

Simon It has to be said, pcp's do have their uses, I like using my falcon when lamping from the motor or on foot or for quieter work around stables and livestock. I just find them boring to shoot, especially compared to the pro sport or 77 since they're both full of character and easily able to match most pcp's. Think Andy's words are particularly prophetic though in your case simon! Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,589
I can't argue with that point John. I don't know. Perhaps Andy's words will ring true...BUT...I love how it looks, how it works; and if all that comes together in a PCP rifle then, at last, someone has built one I actually want to go shooting with. There are areas on my permission where a multi shot pcp would be the perfect tool. Shooting from my vehicle is one definite advantage. Another use of it will be at THL meets where it will stand up to the other lads competing with PCPs on some of the target courses. But as an HFT rifle, it might prove too light and my HW97 .177 or my HW77 .22 spring rifle, in my hands, will outperform it. I fully intend on competing nationally with my HW97 or HW77. Both of those are utterly accurate guns and I know their nuances and touches like my hand. One thing I do know. It will be my only PCP rifle. It will not replace my springers as go-to, field-reliable hunting arms but, it's nice to have the knowledge of choice by experience of owning and shooting both types of rifle. Thank you too Archie. Nice tits and a fine looking girl as usual this week! Simon 2 Quote Link to post

But I am a weak and feeble man and I have finally succumbed to temptation beyond resistance dear friend. First off, i hope you and your good lady are keeping well and if you turn out as good with the pcp as you are with the hw range of springers then we all had better watch out ,but in my eye,s you will still be the best man to go to about spring rifles as you know i all way sing your praises and all ways send the new lads your way when they need help about there springers. i was at the range not so long a go and picked up the hw97k that i had sold my son inlaw and he said to me dont know why you sold it your a cracking shot with it so with a smile i handed it back to him and gave him a few pointers but my grandson little hunter out shot us all with his open site stroger 177 springer. i do like to hunt with my pcp,s but every now and again its nice to pick up a springer and show the new lads how its dun atvb to the both of you ,jimmy mac Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,589
Thank you sincerely Jimmy. I will never let my standards slip with my spring rifles. I am honoured to be able to give help to anyone here, who needs a hand with his springer shooting problems. Never lost a spring rifle tournament yet and don't intend to my dear friend AVB. Simon PS. Helen is coming on well with her shooting and sends her regards to you and little hunter. As do I. That moment with the HW97 with your son in-law shows what a true crack shot you are with nothing more to be said. It's great to see Little Hunter developing so well with his Stoeger, into a proper spring rifle marksman. Like his grandad. Edited December 4, 2013 by pianoman 1 Quote Link to post
moxy 617
You have gone and got a pcp!!....................laddie!! I'm a little more composed now. I'm sure you will share the passion with the pcp as you do with your springers Simon. A tool for every job Enjoy Quote Link to post
