my daughter buys off the car boots --branded named womens clothes shoes boots and handbags and vintage ---to pay her way through uni ----the mrs spends the summer buying good quality coats off the boots and sells them on ebay in winter -----they make good money ... if your handy with a paint brush look for some antique chest of drawers paint them up and put them on ebay...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9lll_5FPnw --------------------------

Reminds me of a joke....... Scotsman, Englishman and Irishman sitting round the camp fire..... Englishman pipes up, in my country we are very hospitable, my local, the first drinks free. Scotsman not to be out down, well in my local you get the first 2 drinks free. The Irishman laughs, that's nothing lads, in my local you get the first, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th drink free and afterwards you are guaranteed a good ride. My Auntie Barbara has made a tidy living at buying & restoring antiques, it started when she used to paint stuff on slate & velvet & she did a range like the canal barge stuff , painting things on old milk churns ... very talented lady

I`ve got a cutomer buys all my vintage cups and saucers she makes them into candles put a wick in fill the cup with wax they sell in her craft shop for 15 quid .. she does tea pots at 20 quid ..

Watched those vids quite interesting, there seems to be a lot of work put into it. What sort of profit would you return on that dresser? How much to buy it for and what would the finished article sell for?

I was speaking to her last week & she found a lalique glass thing at a boot sale , she sells more to the yanks now apparently they like glass , I love her house ... nothing matches & its packed with pictures that need framing & odd bits of old tatty furniture

I buy the flat tops they sell better ----- I can pick them up for 40-60 quid and sell for 150--- 200 I`m one of the cheaper sellers I`d sooner it be gone and make a little quicker profit .. I`ve 20 or more items on the go now ---I sometimes do it to order they buy the furniture pick the colour then I paint so I get 2 hits at the job

had a mate that would buy returned argos goods by the pallet, you dont get to know what is on it apparently its a mix of stuff, he would then ebay it all separately.

Sounded like he got by doing it but struck me as a lot of work for the return
