They should have ring fenced essential services like power and water.. Fair enough, we didn't exactly need a nationalised car industry or trains even, but some things were too important to put into the hands of the private sector IMO.. Good job my chainsaw ain't that heavy on petrol.. been looking at self sufficient heat.hot water and power, even with solid fuel covering the heat and hot water, solar and wind still will not give you all the power you need a good diesel generator would also be required plus all electric would have to be 12 volt battery packs and inverters. its not as easy as i assumed it would be
Malt 379
Aye you'd have to make sacrifices with regards to how much power you used I'd have thought too?

Malt 379
royal mail is next to privatise another scam by the torys just a property scam They sold it off on the cheap and and all.. The share prices jumped up to their true market value as soon as they started trading, can't remember the exact price jump but it was something like £2 per share.. Now imagine how much money you'd make almost instantly if you could afford to invest in a few hundred thousand of those shares when they were first offered to the public? cragman 2,843
The only way to sort this is for the people to take charge of the situation. The government keep saying try elsewhere, shop around but they're all pissing in the same pot, there's nowhere else to try and they know it! Everyone should cancel their debits or payments. I know it's a big ask and a logistical nightmare, but it will need everyone to make a stand but when you've got a divided country, ie the rich, the not so rich and the poor then it won't happen. I'm with NPower, they'll be next, cnuts! Let's hope for a real mild winter.
Blackbriar 8,569
Now they're saying that work isn't necessarily a way out of poverty......................... What other ways have the likes of us got, since we're not multi-millionaires like Mr. Cameron? Who elected these f***ing idiots ????? They tell you to 'switch and find the best deal', but the big 6 energy suppliers all charge about the same, and all put their prices up by about the same amount, at the same time !! Sounds like a cartel to me, and I thought cartels were illegal. Come to think of it, why do they always put their prices up in winter ?? The British people are ripped-off at every available opportunity, while our so-called leaders line their own pockets ! Edited October 17, 2013 by Blackbriar
