ive had running dogs around me since I was a baby in fact never lived in a house without one and 60 yr old next year had a few top class dogs and some average dogs but never a shite one or never stayed for long if it was , but the point I am making is nowadays I am easier to please ,I have 2 dogs one I rate highly and one I rate just about average on a good day years ago these two would have been much more trained than they are obedience wise .I am contented with the two of them and enjoy them for what they are but years ago they would have been at a much higher level than they are .as I said a few top dog men have said they are of the same opinion as me at this stage in their life .

Like the thread , but this underlined leaves me unqualified to comment.;

t if you cant comment none of us can, hope your ok never did meet up in season. will I see you sunday atb j :thumbs:

I hate getting older and find the whole prospect thoroughly depressing.....probably spend more time than I should thinking about it.... And that's not healthy....   It's quality now...not quantity

Agree with Phil and boyo, still look for a decent standard in a dog but I've definitely mellowed. Had to I suppose for I'd describe my passion for hunting when younger to be obsessive and my dogs to

When I was arelative newcomer to working dogs (35 years ago :icon_redface: ) I didn't have the time that I have now to work them.

Suddenly the time is running out. :hmm:

My lurcher dog is 6 turned and my lurcher bitch 3. I've never thought about not getting another when these two go on, old age or whatever. They're the only thing that keep me sane and I do believe, fit and active. :yes:

Your a long time dead so get out as much as you can because some day you won't be able to.

Whether I demand more now than I did a generation ago I wouldn't like to say but I certainly enjoy it just as much. :thumbs:

Cheers, D.
