any body use a priest these days ? i personally havent used one but can remeber ferreting 20 years ago and thats how the guy would dispatch the rabbit! ?

i have 2 but dont normally take them unless im expecting to have to kill a lot.. i have a we bit of athritus and can struggle to hold the bunny to stretch it especialy if its wrapped up in a longnet

No if you struggle to neck them you can hold them in your left hand and push there head back with your right got to be just as easy as using a priest

Its all about the chinning!! Taught myself a couple of years back after dropping a stretched rabbit, which ran off. Its fast and efficient, no doubt.

I cant see the point in a priest, something else to carry and lose. Plus, I don't think its looks good in front of people, after all its just a fancy hammer!

I had landowners amazed at how fast and easy it is to chin a bunny, it Deffo looks much better than stretching them or tapping them with a priest imo

When we were kids my mate and his dad made some, with lead in copper pipe, big ball type end to 'em.

We took 'em ferreting.... First bunny hit the net and me mate whips out the priest all excited and twatted it.... Head caved and splattered all over the fecking net... Total mess.... Chinning forever after...

iv always stretched them , never used a priest , but iv just bought aload of ferreting gear which has a priest in, to be honest i wont be using it, id like to learn how to chin them

Nowt to learn pal it's easy. Grab bunny with your hand around back of its neck. Palm of other hand under its chin an push back. Sometimes the teeth will rub your Palm an I've seen guys get weirded out by it lol but it takes a split second an they are always dead. Check youtube for a vid, if not it really is simple

So true, funny as you like. My mate flips his jacket over his hand, pussy. Cant say Ive ever felt the teeth, just usually the back feet if the head don't come through the net. Still got a scar on the back of my hand from a kicking rabbit last season.

I prefer chinning rabbits. I seem to remember hearing that rabbits bleed heavily from the nose after you hit them with a priest? if that's true it wouldn't be ideal for killing rabbits in the net.
