3175darren 1,102
Well you have your way I have mine, I see no problem with hanging them outside for a couple of day's , and taking sensible precautions in regards to scent, it's the way I was taught and it does no harm at all, Quote Link to post
jandcguns 65
Load of crap weathering and all this shite about smoking etc......if the snares are set on runs in the field the rabbit is traveling at speed so does not have time to sniff the wire.I smoke while setting snares and I've caught a fair few it makes no differance set right a rabbit or hare will hit a wire bang on.Even fence snares where a rabbit slows down before going through the fence I've smoked had ferret smell on my hands made no differance as been said set early morning and most of human scent gone by time rabbits come out to feed. So you don't have to put lettuce juice on your snares then Quote Link to post
The one 8,583
Boiled up my traps to get the factory gunk off them but after i made up a batch of snares i never weathered them just made sure i had no strong smelling odours on my hands , and set them in the morning and they where catching rabbit for the next morning Quote Link to post
