lifes to short to worry about what other people want to do in their spare time

Way too hot to be traipsing your dogs around a game fair/show................I keep mine in the car.

Socks. Many foot packs and terriers/ lurcher clubs rely on there summer show to raise funds and yes they are meeting places They have been a part of the scene for many many years and long may they

When the weathers a little more British there are a few decent shows I go to organised by the local hunts that haven’t been completely taken over by the pony club but not many. Went to a couple last year one in which the lurchers were judged by a friend who works both terriers and lurchers, a sound fella. Had me amused when he had a rather portly lady running round the ring with her dog, after one circuit she slowed down but he said keep going keep going, though she was going to collapse. A year or so previously he judged terriers and gave it to half a dog or at least half a face. The rest had been lost through many an encounter, as he said if its lost through work then judge what’s missing as perfect, as there wasn’t a lot left there was a lot of perfection, sounded about right to me.

But most of you will be out lamping in September on the stubbles when its still hot.FFS they're working dogs. Granted there's limits but how warm do you think they get after 20 runs on a night in early autumn? Cant see the point of dragging dogs round the shows meself but each to their own I suppose.
