Many Communist groups believe that MP's should only be paid the national average working wage(curently around £27,000), which would help ensure that the pocket-liners were deterred from entering politics.

It would certainly attract a different calibre of candidate !

"Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong remedies"

(Marx - not Karl, Groucho!)

Think that's a great idea.

If people pulling the strings felt the repercussions of their actions maybe they would be more inclined to do better for the working man and better for the country.

After that expenses scandal, anyone fiddling should have been sacked on the spot.

f**k marx and communisim. lol i hate them but the commies would be the finishing touches to this nation. they did and still are f*****g this country up,them and the spineless lot in westminister

The quote is by Groucho Marx, the comedian and actor, not Karl Marx, the political theorist, who didn't make comedy films as far as I know!
