Mp's Pay Rise!

Recommended Posts

Cameron says he will not be able to block a planned rise in MP's pay, after the next election.

At a time when our incomes are being squeezed 'til they squeak, and millions face an uncertain future, our representatives are rubbing their hands at the prospect of lining their own pockets even further.

A back-bench MP is currently paid around £66,000 per year (before expenses, obviously!), and this is expected to rise to over £70,000, and could rise by up to £10,000 !

The Prime Minister says such a situation is "unthinkable", but MP's have said they will block any move to prevent or restrict the rise.

And the gravy train rumbles on..........

are you really surprised by this news :laugh::laugh:

Not surprised at all, Paulus, but I'm prepared to wager that they would rather we didn't know about this, let alone discuss it!

if the pm has no power to stop it, then i dont think they really give a flying fook who knows and there in lies the problem with our politicians, they should take a leaf from some of the ex forces charities take SSAFA "service, not self"

depends on their strength of character and there morals, both of which most politicians would score low on,

Most jobs you have to have a yearly review and if/when the boss decides you have done well, you get a SMALL pay rise.

We are their bosses and I say they've done a terrible job.

Agree but its easy for folk to take the moral highground when there not got a chance of doing it.

Plus alot of folk dont earn anyway near 60k and think its alot of money truth is 60k per year is good but it far from high paid

the average MP`s salary is just over 66k, then the average expense bill on top of this is just over 133k so perhaps is higher than you thought !!
