pie-eater 377
Do you give a warren time to settle after laying your purse nets? I do these days Ill net up a warren then Ill walk away for a while usualy Ill net up another if theres one close enough. Im quiet setting up anyway but I find the rabbits bolt a bit better like this. No they still bolt but I find the warren emptys a lot faster after a rest. Shotguns a bit loud for me I enjoy the silence. Quote Link to post

Like Tomo just get cracking.. I half agree but if I can net up another warren theres no time lost and Im not talking about walking away for an hour just 5 or 10 mins while Im either netting up another warren or having a drink. Phil Lloyd 10,739
Personaly,...I like to get on with the job,..and I have found that waiting around, after netting up, to be counter productive,.even more so,.. on deep warrens.... I don't like to give rabbits, too much time to think,... Edited June 20, 2013 by Phil Lloyd 2 Quote Link to post

GreyRake 108
I sometimes do. Net up then have some lunch or a smoke. Me and my helper like to have a banter and a laugh while we are netting, were certainly not quiet. 1 Quote Link to post

I don't like to give rabbits, too much time to think,... Counterproductive? that's given me something to think about. My usual land which I barely touched last season has footpaths running through it so theres a lot of dog walkers etc. The 2 new permisions I spent most of my time on are a bit out of the way so Im now wondering if the rabbits bolting easier had less to do with letting things settle and more to do with the rabbits not being put to ground every 5 minutes by dogs. 1 Quote Link to post
The one 8,592
Same here nets on ferret in , i want to spend my day ferreting no waiting about or sipping tea , In-fact if its a really big place i will drop a couple of ferrets in finish netting then drop more ferrets in after the first to start unsettling the rabbits 1 Quote Link to post
