youcanthide...BANG 1,051
its not bringing back your dead dogs though its bringing a dog back that looks exactly like your dog but will most probably have a completely different mindset
scothunter 12,609
no its wrong imo.there just some things that we shouldnt be f***ing with.im not a religious person at all. but we can get to clever.
walshie 2,804
its not bringing back your dead dogs though its bringing a dog back that looks exactly like your dog but will most probably have a completely different mindset I agree. They might be able to get a dog with the same build, colour and markings, but it won't know you, it won't have had the same experiences as the other dog, so it will just be a different dog that looks the same. youcanthide...BANG 1,051
i know they did it with a barrel racing horse, was the world champion but he was a rescue horse and had had the snip or just fired blanks, anyway the owner could earn a fortune from breeding him so instead she cloned him, meaning the offspring would be 100% genetically matched then used that horse for a stud, even though it didnt have the same abilities as its dad
BIG G wheton machine 1,594
would like to see it done with mammoths, imagine if it came cheap the dog world would be flooded with dog blood lines from the peddlers 1 dig wonder
Guest scramble
no its wrong imo.there just some things that we shouldnt be f*****g with.im not a religious person at all. but we can get to clever. The thing is this kind of research is leading to cell rejuvenation, if your 60 yr old cells can re-generate to that of a 21 yr old getting old will be a thing of the past. The possibilities are endless.
RubyTex 1,957
You've all seen how the film Jurassic Park ended up f**k that

Barring illness, injury or ending up on a plate with a nice sauce, those things have the potential to be biologically immortal!

youcanthide...BANG 1,051
if you clone a plant that means you have no diversity so if a virus or disease destroys that plant it means the entire crop can be affected. cloning just leads to small gene pools meaning if a disease does spread to human and plant cells it can wipe all the cloned cells out. Have you noticed how many leylandii trees there are about the place? Every single one of them in the world is cloned from a small group of about 20 hybrid trees.. Born Hunter 17,843
I support the science but it's moving further and further away from nature, evolution and natural selection............... that I'm uncomfortable with! For lack of a better expression, 'we're playing god'. Mother nature has no malice or agenda, just a simple set of rules that are applied across the board. If we completely leave the natural way and dictate our own evolution, do we really trust the person making the decisions? The science is interesting but the philisophical implications are greater imo.
