FUJI 17,722
Set off early doors today although I wanted away at 4.30am it was 5.25am when I opened my eyes :-( ..cup of tea, bowl of porridge, flask made and off we went, the usual suspects plus my cur Don..Christ im not sure I'll be taking Don for a walk up there to often,I'd only been out the car a few minutes when he was off on a strong scent, next scenario I seen the critter bounding through the forest a good 150 yards ahead,he was never going to get on terms but I knew he'd give it a run..25 minutes it took for him to return, lord only knows where and how far he'd been?..he buggered off six times in all and each time returned with his tongue touching the floor lol,he lifted a real fine chap out of some young conifers, the beastie had a beautiful head set on him,the pups certainly know what they are now..it's not about chasing anything,I just like to go where there ain't many prying eyes etc but my old dogs are feckers for them beasties so what can you do without leashing them up for the whole duration of the walk? I like to take the pups with the big dogs once or twice a week as they don't act the goat as much whereas when I just have them they are like two naughty children lol..the higher I got today the mist/fog whatever it was got really bad, infact I couldn't see ten yards in front of me as I got to a place known as the Kings Seat..I turned round and headed back into the forest..the pics ain't the best due to the weather,I ain't a fecking clue what settings and such you need for conditions like that :-) 2 Quote Link to post

I didn't want to shout and whistle and let half of Cumbria know where I was lol...atleast the dog has a bit of brain about it,my lads terriers would never be sighted again lol...I might take the fuckers one of these days lol Quote Link to post

FUJI 17,722
You lads know the craic lol...he's a very very obedient dog but them darn things send him cuckoo lol, once he gets on a strong scent he will hunt until he finds them,I'm to old to be "search and rescue" up on them fells these days...no doubt about it if I take him now and again it's just a matter of time :-( ...the old ticking timebomb lol...I know EXACTLY what you mean Chalkie...hope,pray and cross you fingers you don't hear that darn racket :-( 2 Quote Link to post
