B.P.R 2,798
had a pile of sheet netting in the garage...a load of paracord and some electric fence posts.... rather than chop the netting up for purse nets or sell it... i had a go at making a longnet of some sort....making use of the good weather. i grinded the 'hooks' off the posts that i wouldnt be needing and taped it all up to prevent anything catching. i used paracord for the top and bottom lines and gave the net 100% bagging. its either 21 or 25 yards long... cant remember its not the smartest looking.....poles arent ideal.... but im sure it will work. ive got another load of netting....same amount as this so will maybe make another upon your siggestions and improvements cheers. the skinny practicing getting over it as shes never seen one before Quote Link to post

Hot Meat 3,109
How high is the net set in pics? Looks high mate. Only needs to be twenty inch high tops. It'll do the job that's for sure I still remember my first rabbit in a long net. Day and night. At the size you have got that its perfect for little drops just doing one warren at time at night. Its great sport haha Quote Link to post
3175darren 1,102
Bonny dog, it looks well up for working with the net mate, Quote Link to post
smithie 2,444
if you want to try traditional netting ill give you a set of end pins for the price of the postage money....then your lad can crack on wi his paper round 3 Quote Link to post
B.P.R 2,798
its probably set about 2 1/2 - 3ft high.... ive never even seen a longnet before i just took my own initiative and done what i thought would be best. id be interested in the traditional method..... but will have to get onto 'the one' for a lesson on how to do it. i havent got a clue i cant adjust the height of that net....ive grinded all the hooks off and only left 2 of them.... The one 8,595
Spend some of your cash mate and get rid of that lump under the mattress buy some Magnum poles off of here and ditch the ski poles Quote Link to post
Hot Meat 3,109
Just move the height down and tape the top line to poles orus bicycle inner tube. Net will work a lot better if you drop the height mate Quote Link to post
