2013 British And Irish Lions Tour To Australia.

Anybody reckon Wilkinson will make the plane, and if so what would he bring to the squad apart from his goal kicking? :hmm: We should have plenty of reliable kickers throughout the squad as it is, I personally can't really see what he'd bring that isn't already there. I think 10 is our weakest link at the minute, for too long our game in the northern hemisphere has revolved around the boot at outside half IMO.. That's the reason I like seeing someone like Hook playing at 10, he brings more than just a reliable boot..

+1

Experience and a cool head, something that Biggar, Sexton and Farrell have yet to prove they have. Will Wilkinsons body hold up to a battering though thats what would stop me picking him, this tour is going to be real physical and with the hard grounds I think Gatland will want good ball players.

What a great game and a great way to silence the "naysyers" the win was based on a power game and when played correctly is hard to live with for any team imo, yes its one dimensional at times but when

I like the way people of all nations have got behind the British and Irish lions on here. Some of the vitriol towards other nations players on other sites has to be seen to be believed. On this thread

Well a wins a win and thats about all. The ref aside (Dont like slagging refs off) the Lions looked very nervous and seemed to wait to see what the Wallibes did first before doing their own stuff. 3 i

I'd like to see Phillips as captain, for me 9 is the natural position for a captain to operate on paper, and if Mike could get some of his fire into the rest team they'd take some stopping! Maybe he has too much at times though!

No Launchbury or Ben Morgan, no Robshaw either, I honestly thought they would be in the squad tbh. There will be a few changes yet with injuries I expect, I thought Gatland would've took a utility back like Hook.

Great to see Lydiate making the trip, he was unlucky breaking his ankle when he did.

Bit light on numbers at 10, but apart from that a good squad built to flatten. It's got physicality built in all round in the main contact areas and any team playing against a team picked from that squad is going to be fecking sore for days afterwards!
