I keep telling you she gets travel sick ........

As you say it really isn't worth the hassle for a 300 yard journey ... It's more effort than the worth of it I would rather get the quad insured and next time the little jumped up prick tries to play

I sold mine last year but used to have Bikesure/Adrian Flux at about £170 a year.

The NFU will do it a lot cheaper but ONLY if you have some other insurance with them, home, car, etc etc otherwise they aren't very helpful (I had a stand up row on their stall at the Royal Cornwall Show a couple of years back :icon_redface: )

Cheers, D.

Sorry to hi-jack your thread Socks but does anybody know if you are allowed to carry a passanger on an Agricultural registered quad bike?

No!! It states in the owners manual and on the warning stickers on the bike.

unless it has 2 seats

Not too sure about that mate. I was told even if your quad was designed to carry 2 people your still not permitted to carry any passengers on an Agri registered quad. I just asked the question to clarify this ;)

The only insurance I could get was with the NFU as the bike isn't road legal cost me £109 for the year third party fire and theft ... To answer the question if it is registered or insured as an agri then its only for one person no matter the seat size ....

If the bike is used for agricultural use which rural pest control comes under you can use the quad on a public highway for up to 1.5 Kms to get to your original place of work or to go between places of work ... As I said NFU are the only ones who will do this insurance ... And I had no other insurance with them before this ........

a quad for agri use, used on the road still as to have a number plate and a valid tax disc

Apparently it's correct.

I've just got off the phone to NFU, and providing you are only going less than 1.5km and it's agricultural use, you can be insured and legal without a number plate.
