Not one to argue on your knowledge of boxing mate but I'm sure I watched a programme about Ali and he said something about people's styles vary so differently so that's why some boxers can beat other boxers , then they go and get outboxed of another boxer who couldn't even beat the boxer they had beaten in the first place. f**k I hope you understand what am saying there... Lol

Ah reckon McGuigan would have beaten Jim McDonnell in his prime...it had all kind of fallen apart by the time he fought JM...remember watching Nelson KO Pat Cowdell...brutal that...

i think barry was at the end of his career if its jim mc donnell we are talking about and i dont think he ever recovered after the cruz fight but in his prime i do believe he would of had the ability to out box nelson

No your absolutely right mate.....i dont think Mcguigan stylistically would of dealt with him so the fact Nelson easily beat the man who beat the man kind of thing just reinforces it for me.............Mcguigan was a pressure fighter who didnt do well off the back foot,a guy of Nelsons physical strength would have had him on the back foot.....personally i think Mcguigan was overated as a fighter.

Mcguigan was the younger man in that fight.....he retired at only 28 remember and he didnt have a particularly hard career so i dont think physically he was past it at all.
